Thanks for checking out my site, welcome! I’ll try to be not only informative, but also entertaining. I’ll start with a story:
A long time ago, two young men where traveling on the subway in Washington D.C. One of them happened to have a pair of pliers, and a leather pouch of chainmail rings. You might have guessed, the one with the pliers was me! I was making a necklace at the time. I’m not sure how familiar you are with DC, but something like that just isn’t done. I was getting more then a few side glances. But being the city that it was, most people don’t like interacting with other people, so that’s as far as it went. Until a young lady, new to the city came up to me and asked, “Hey, is that byzantine?” “How did you know that!?” I said. A short conversation, and a lot of stares from strangers later, I had her email address and plans to send her some info about chainmail.
Little did I know, that was how I met my future wife. Now, not only do I still wear the necklace I was making at the time, but with the addition of two rings. One given to me as a promise-If I ever asked her to marry me she would say yes, And one because she did!

Beautiful story beautiful necklace. I love your wife’s gold costume. Congratulations on such beautiful work. (I’m a friend of your mom’s. We lived down the street from each other growing up. We went K-12 together and are still friends some 58 yrs later!)
Tom! You’ve been metalworking more than half your life. xoox
